In August 2019, the Plaintiff was cycling on a grassy off-road path in Hamilton, Ontario when he rode into a culvert, sustaining a broken neck that led to complete quadriplegia. The Plaintiff sued the City of Hamilton (the “City”) for $22 million in damages, alleging the City’s negligence was responsible for his injuries.
