In the Community

We’re focused on building resilience. That means helping society and our customers adapt to the impacts of climate change and creating opportunities for children and families living in poverty.

Generosity — helping others, protecting the environment and making our communities more resilient — is one of the values that guides our work. We focus our generosity to help our communities in three areas where we can have the biggest impact:

  •  Ensuring communities are climate resilient
  •  Creating opportunities for children and families living in poverty
  •  Supporting our employees to help others

For more details on how we’re building resilient communities, please read our Social Impact Report.

Municipal Climate Resiliency Grants

Municipalities are on the frontlines of flood and wildfire risk management. Providing them with resources to assess their exposure to these threats and address them – while also mobilizing residents in the process – is essential to building climate resilient communities.

The selected applicants implemented a variety of projects, including those that create a new wetland by engaging youth, offer FireSmartTM approved enhancements to at-risk homes, build fire breaks around vulnerable communities and provide advance flood prevention information to local residents.
